Save the Date Magnets

Wow, what fun it is to have an excited Bride and Groom to-be head out of here with their own personalized magnets to send to friends, relatives, co-workers and neighbors reminding them to Save the Date for their wedding coming up. The magnet are a daily reminder to the recipients as well as a nice item to place on the frig or computer of the loved one that is getting married in the future. All magnets come with an envelope for mailing. Just the right size. Just one of the many items we have to offer our clients.

YUCK! Tax Season

Yep, the tax season is upon us. Now to get everything in for the accountant to work on. Before ya know it, the end of the year is upon us, and I'm not even ready. Would it be because I am having so much fun with our clients that I forget my daily entries? Yep, that's it! Oh well, now is the time to catch up and vow to keep another one of my New Years Resolutions alive--daily entries for taxes for the year of 2008 for my accountant.
OK, now onto getting ready to visit with my client(s) for the day. Have a great one!

Whirl Wind of a Day!

Wow...yesterday we packed up for an Expo in Becker and were very BUSY with many past clients and possible new clients to see what we have to offer them here at Magic Moments Photography. We talked about our upcoming Bunny Session (that excites children) as well as kids that will be high school seniors and thinking about their senior photography this upcoming summer. We even chatted to Brides and Grooms about their special day...one of which will be coming to visit with us on Monday the 28th of January to chat about their wedding in August. Not only that, but another calling us this week about photographing them on location out of MN.
We no more than got home, unpacked our Expo things, then our grandchildren came to spend the night. That is where I was last nite...not even able to do my chat with all of you, because they kept me busy, until they put me to sleep, with them in my arms...such precious times!

A NEW and Upcoming Celebrity

A BIG congratulations goes to little G from our own little town of Monticello who was on KARE 11 this morning interviewing our own Tim McNiff a reporter for KARE 11. She was so fun to watch and very business like doing the interview. We have photographed her in the past at her school. A new and upcoming celebrity!!!
Today I was busy packaging and delivering sporting events images to various locations. Now to prepare for our Expo that we will be busy with tomorrow in Becker. Remember, stop in and let me know that you read my blog....there's something special in it for you. Have a great one.

Whew...saved by a Call!

As I mentioned yesterday, I was headed to a meeting for Professional Photographers to learn more information. I also mentioned that we HELP each other out if the call should arise. Well, the speaker for the evening was not able to attend and only gave a two hour notice..."oh no, what do we do?" Tah dah, S to the rescue. She is an awsome person in the photographic field to get to know. She will help and step in whenever the call comes. She had plenty of other things to handle, but when she got the call to cover and be the speaker for the evening---SHE WAS THERE! THANKS S, you were the hero for the night...hope you got your personal things handled for your well deserved trip.

Off to Training Tonight

I am chatting now due to the fact that tonight I will be attending a session for Professional Photographers. We belong to many organizations for Professional Photographers, as it is the way to learn more and keep in touch with the many new ideas and photographers within your area. We have even met photographers from around the country. It is always fun to get together for training and seminars and just comradery.
One of the beauties of belonging to these organizations besides learning is the fact that if something BAD should happen to myself or my husband and we are unable to attend a photo session, we can always count on another photographer to cover for us. Case in fact...another local photographer was unable to work for at least a year due to a serious illness. No worries, photographers from around the area covered for him until he was back on his feet. That in itself makes it worth while to belong.
Have a beautiful day... till next time,

Yes Patti, Christmas is over

This is one of the tough days of the year. As you can tell, I don't like to say good-bye to Christmas. It is not because of the gifts (giving and receiving). It is because it means it is really over. Time to go back to work. Time to quit enjoying the holidays. Time to let the holiday visits end. Time to quit eating naughty (smiley here). Today I finally took down the holiday decorations. As I took the ornaments off the tree, it gave me time to reflect on each and every one of the ornaments. Where did each of the ornaments come from, what did each one mean to me? As I removed the ornaments, I realized that I need to find 4 different years of AVON ornaments that I have collected since 1980. I don't know where to start to find them. Any suggestions? Give me a call. Ok, now on with the rest of the year....reflecting and having fun!

Hibernate?

Should we or not? With this weather as cold as it is, don't you feel like hibernating? Well, it just is not possible. A person gets busy with business or work, or just life in general. I was out delivering composites today to get approvals, then off to a networking meeting, not to say that I also had to stop at the store.
Oh then, stopped at my parents to visit with them for a few minutes. My parents are so great! I love to visit with them. You only have one mom and one dad, so always make time for them. Mine took care of me for many years, so I want to do whatever I can do for them, with the hope my kids feel the same about us.
Give me a call sometime. Life is great!

It's COLD out there!

Wow, if you don't need to go out----DON'T! We had an on location session today, and packing things into and out of the vehicle was unbearable. Not only did we do it once, we packed and unpacked twice. But the session went great.
Tomorrow, I go to a couple of our pre-schools we photographed at to deliver sample composits for the ok to print. We let the teachers approve the images and names of each child before going to print so as to catch any misspellings or kids in the wrong class, etc. So YES, I will be out in the cold (again).
Have a great one and KS!

Always learning more

Wow, what an eventful training day....who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks?
Today I was with a photographer friend ( yes, we photographers are friends with each other), down by the metro area and we just had a brain-storming day...she even provided coffee, snack, lunch etc and we kept on chatting. I hope she will follow up with the great opportunity she has! I have learned sooooo much from S and I want to be of help to C in another way.
Then when I got home, I went online with a web training-session. It's always good to stretch the brain with more info. Now if I could only remember something that S taught me, I will be doing even better!!! Call me S
I'm smiling---how 'bout you?

Pass It On

Phone calls come in from our Brides and Grooms requesting their wedding date availability. Some I am able to help, others I will send on to a reputable and fun photographer, not in our town, although a photographer I would utilize if I was to get married. Where was she 34 years ago? This is the way we photographers work. If we cannot help you, we will pass you onto someone we trust. We interact with photographers many times to learn from each other and feel the comfort in referring them to you. So trust us Professional Photographers. We do know what we are doing. Have a great day.
Keep Smiling if you are happy!

Once Again, another sporting event

We had another photo sporting event. It was a good time. It is fun to pose these little kids, and watch them interact with each other as we work with their friend. There is always the teasing of each other to see who can "out-pose" the other one. In the end, when all is said and done, they can't wait to get their packages back. It was a good day. Tomorrow is another day.

Missed you last nite

Whoops, didn't get to chat last nite...Had a photographic event that went into the later part of the night, and after putting all the gear away, I guess you could say I was quite exhausted as mother nature made me fall asleep in my chair!
Well, good morning. Having my first cup of coffee and going to put some orders together to deliver to our Wrestlers. Then I will have a few errands to run (drycleaner, post-office, middle school, etc) as later this afternoon I am going to spend with a girlfriend in which we celebrate our birthdays and Christmas together by doing a "girl day". Well our girl day consists of shopping, eating, laughing, crying, sharing secrets (yes, we still do at our age) and then attending a Concert at the Xcel Energy Center tonite. So I will not be blogging tonight to you as, again it will be a late night. So have yourself a good day...I know mine will be GREAT!
Remember,
Keep Smiling, I will!

What a Wonderful Life

Life is grand, wouldn't you say? Especially when you are doing what you love...getting up in the morning and going to work, even if it is in our own home...We love photographing. Our first client for the year comes in to do a family session. K is sooooo excited. Both of her children are home from school (college) yet, and it has been forever since they have had a family portrait. She is looking forward to a special image of just her and her son, as her daughter and her have had a session together in the past. Family is so precious. We want to make it special for her husband, son and daughter....something to cherish forever....a "magic moment" to cherish forever and display in their home.
Til next time, have a great one...and KEEP SMILING!
