Life--it's wonderful

Aren't they beautiful? What precious little one(s). Yes, there's two. Oh they were fun to work with. We created a beautiful 9-up for each little one consisting of their tiny little toes, noses, ears, eyes. It was a challenge to keep them straight. Typically, when we have a baby come in, we always allow 2 hours of time. We know that there will be feeding time, changing time, and holding time. Oh yes, I'm always one of the holders-I will always volunteer to help by holding little precious children. Mine are grown, but I still get my hugs from them.

We have wonderful packages for your child. We even have packages beginning with YOU! When you know that you are pregnant, we will do a series of images from 3 to 9 months, then the memorable moment of you holding your child against your skin. Our creativity is beyound imagination. Call us for your session. Refer us to your friend or relative. There's something special in it for you.

Wedding Season Under-Way

Yep, now that spring is here, we really get into action with the 2008 Wedding Season. No, we haven't been sitting around doin' nothin'....we were getting ready, and we've been busy in the studio with portraits as well as many events. We've been chatting with many Brides and Grooms for the upcoming 2008 Wedding Season, as well as 2009 Brides and Grooms. As I have said before, it is NOT too early to schedule your wedding for 2009...the date you may need us for could already be spoken for. Call and see if your wedding date is available and we can chat about your wants and needs. The Bride and Groom in this image were photographed last August and this happens to be the image they wanted for their wall portrait. They have just submitted their order...now we get to have fun creating their album with the images they have chose for the album. Have yourself a great day...go out and enjoy the beauty of spring.

Don't be Stubborn

This little tyke decided that she had enough, and didn't want to do anymore images with the family portrait session that was taking place. We captured her at her "best" as mom and dad said. We did however really capture a lasting memory portrait of their family. They were a wonderful family to work with.

So, as I have in my title, don't be stubborn, I will be persistant that you get that family portrait done this summer or fall. Call soon as the best times for family portraiture fill up fast, and our weekends are busy with Wedding Photography throughout October, with only a couple of open Saturdays left. 763-295-2727.

Chat later,

Wierd Huh?

Yes this image is wierd, it's also fun but most important--it's creative. When we photograph your wedding we are always looking for that moments that you are unaware of to capture that image that is not the "norm". Oh we will do the traditional posed images, you HAVE to, but then we also have fun doing something special for you to enjoy. We will create images for you to treasure for years to come. J & D, our Bride and Groom had a very UNIQUE get-a-way vehicle that swoshed them away from the church to the reception. It was a beautifully decked out, shined up semi. The semi was beautifully painted and is used daily by the Truck Driver. Anytime I am out on the freeway system, I look for this truck. It was amazing! But it certainly was unique!

This past Monday I attended a seminar regarding Wedding Photography, put on by our local photographic group (Mpls). The speaker was from California-I learned a lot and have decided to implement some of his suggestions when we photograph this year. We are always looking for new ideas and suggestions to impress our Brides and Grooms with our WOW images. Call soon if you are in need of a Wedding Photographer. We have only a few open Saturdays this year yet, and already booking up for 2009!

Hey Seniors!

Call early...you will get the best time for your scheduled session. We like to do your sessions inside our studio as well as exclusive locations outdoors. Are you tired of "the same old stuff"?

Come to us. We will make you happy you did. This image is one created from a client that is graduating this year in the spring. We had a lot of fun with her. I believe she also had a good time. She had come to us, because she wanted something different than the "others". Our number is 763-295-2727.

My Kids

Yep, these are my kids, I'm the short one on the left. I am soooo...very proud of these 3 kids. Jason, our oldest on the right was "made in Japan", a joke that has carried on forever and always will. Wayne and I (Wayne was in the service), lived in Japan the first two years of our marriage. Jason lives and works in CA with his beautiful wife Megan. Our daughter Traci (in the middle of the boys) lives in Buffalo, only 15 minutes away from us. She is married to a wonderful guy who is just great and they have two cute little grandsons for us. Traci was always watched over by her two brothers whenever a guy would come into her life...Brian (her hubby) was the one "they" choose to be right for her. Eric, the young guy on the left, lives in FL with his beautiful wife Jackie. They are both in the medical field in sales and love their jobs.

This was just a quick snapshot taken during the holidays. Summer is just around the corner. Your family will be home from college, for family gathers, weddings, etc. Call us to schedule that fun outdoor family portrait. I've mentioned it before---family is important---capture that moment.

P.S. Yes, that's me with tears in my eyes, tears of JOY!

SR Announcements

I know I have mentioned it in the past, but you don't have long to get those Senior Open House announcements in. It only takes a week to get them in, but you have to consider the time that you need to spend on addressing all the envelopes(provided with your order), and to make sure that everyone on your list gets your invite in time for planning purposes. Oh by the way, since we are talking of planning, why don't you plan to send your friends, relatives or neighbors...you will receive a coupon toward your own use, weather it be for a session, or an order...think about it! Who couldn't use a break every now and then...you'll be happy you sent someone. Call for details---763-295-2727.

They call him "Dad"

Why? you ask? I did too. We photographed the local boys baseball teams this past Wednesday (the only decent day of the week!). This young gentleman has been playing baseball since his younger days. We have photographed him with the local team for the past 6 years. I alway remember him, as he truly IS a gentleman. I think the kids all look up to him, as a mentor of some sort. He is now a senior, and his way of being photographed for his last year on the team HAD to be different, so this is what he chose. I will miss him in the coming years. He was always so nice.

Now, onto these "snow days", if you are tired of this stuff, check out our web site at magicmomentsphotography.biz, click on the TRAVEL button, and catch a flight to somewhere warm. The Travel site is not only for our Brides and Grooms for honeymoons, but for family, friends and relatives. So keep our website in mind the next time you or a loved one has to travel. Our rates are comparable (if not cheeper) than the other on-line travel sites.

Until next time,

Thanks K (Career Day Student)

Today was spent with a young lady from our local school who had to spend a day with a business for her Careers class. It was a day well spent as we discussed many things. She had a lot of wonderful questions for me as well, such as: how do you spend your day?, Where do you photograph?, How do people hear about you?, etc, etc, etc.
As she was here, she witnessed my phone conversations with inquiring Brides, how I chat with them, get involved with them, etc. Then she was able to witness my phone conversation with a potential family wanting a family portrait created for them.
She was also able to get the real "picture" of what all goes into event photography on location. She helped with the loading of equipment, worked closely with the photographer and had many wonderful questions, all of which were very ligitimate questions of an inquiring mind.
At the end of the day, I and my husband felt very comfortable with her, and told her that she was more than welcome to come back for a day or more and "hang" with us for a FULL day and see what a photographic business is like during the REALLY busy season.
We hope to see more of her.

What's with the White Stuff?

Ok, it's spring already, and it is time to get out and really enjoy the beautiful days that Minnesota can provide us with. This white stuff is just a teaser.

Senior season is upon us. If you should know of a student that will be graduating in the year of 2009, contact us. We will start with the sessions come the end of May. Our students that we photographed this past year during the summer of 2007 now have to get their announcements ordered. This young lady was one of our past clients the summer of 2007. She was fun to photograph. We had photographed her brother two years ago. It is so fun to get to know the family by photographing them as they grow up.

Hope you had a great weekend. I know I did. My sister was here for the weekend as we had a family gathering for my uncle who is turning 90 years old, and still doing great. Family is so important to me. I again want to remind you to get that family portrait done. As mentioned before, every two to three years is suggested!!!

Career Day Person

Yesterday I had the opportunity to chat with a young lady about learning a little more about the business of photography. She was calling from the school, in which the school requires students to contact a business of interest and spend 3-4 hours with that business. The date that the school requires these students to participate with a business is next Wednesday, April 9th. Well, this young lady will find out what it is like to go on location and photograph an event of sports. It just so happens to be that it will be with students she goes to school with, won't she be surprised?

Behind the scenes is a lot more than you can imagine. The post production of a session is more involved than you can imagine. This past Saturday, Wayne, my partner in this business held a session at a local venue to illustrate a little of what DOES go on before production of your image. Again, we are not the Walmart, Target, JC Penny, etc., in which we "print and go". There is always something special done to your image which shows we are professionals.

Attached is something fun that was created for a client. It is now in printing status, we do not have an image ready for you in just seconds. We take the time and care to produce a beautiful product for you.

Anytime is good

This woman actually obtained this little girl just 3 months ago from over seas. She wanted so badly to have images of herself and her little one as if this little girl was actually born to her. The love is so deep, and "mommy" was so excited to have the images done. We have even created an actual portrait for her with all the little "toes, fingers, ears, nose, etc" into a collage.

So as I have indicated in my title, if you think that you are too late to have images of you and your little one created in this manner, you're wrong. Anytime is good. A child grows so quickly, and you will always enjoy the fact that you did at one time have these special "moments" created for years to treasure.

Love is in the Air

Ok, you ask yourself, "What in the world in that?". Do you remember about a month ago when the Earth was between the Sun and the Moon? I took my camera out to photograph the "eclipse", but then I got a little creative. I opened the shutter of the camera, grabbed the image in the sky (moon) and drew a "heart" shape very slowly and this is what I got, but I drew the heart with my camera (with the shutter open) the normal way, not upside down...weird!!! Sometimes we, as a photographer like to try something just a little different. If you give us the time to create other than just the "norm", you'd be amazed at the results.

So again, this explains my "Love is in the Air" title. I love what I do, and yes I love my partner, my husband whom I work with in this business---so that is what the "heart" is symbolizing, as well.

Giggles

Looking at this image just makes me smile. This little girl has a beautiful smile. She is a very happy little girl as you can tell by this image.

We want you to know that when you come to our studio or we come on location to create your special image, we WILL have fun, we will make you smile, we will make you happy with what we create. Why go to the "Sears, JC Penny's, ProEx", etc. where you will be treated as a number? We go the extra step and spend time with you to create that something special. We have had many people come to us after trying those other "professional" locations as mentioned above as they WERE NOT happy with the service and quality. Oh yeah, they get a lot for cheaper, but now they know why. Give us a call. 763-295-2727. You will receive a FREE no obligation consultation.

Keep Smiling !!!
